Oregon Attorney General Solicits Comments On Transfer Of Baker City And Ontario Hospitals
Catholic Health Initiatives intends to transfer Holy Rosary Medical Center and St. Elizabeth Health Services to Trinity Health, another national charitable Catholic health care organization, to create a regional health care system comprised of Holy Rosary Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Health Services, Mercy Medical Center, located in Nampa, Idaho, and St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, located in Boise, Idaho.
As part of the change in ownership, Holy Rosary Medical Center and St. Elizabeth Health Services have asked Oregon Attorney General John Kroger to exercise his discretion and waive the requirements of Oregon Revised Statutes 65.803(1) relating to the Oregon Attorney General's review of hospital sales.
Attorney General Kroger is accepting comments regarding the proposed transaction and requested waiver, particularly from residents of the communities served by Holy Rosary and St. Elizabeth, including Ontario and Baker City until February 18, 2010.
