Military Assistance Panel Formed To Help Active Duty Service Members And Their Families

November 7, 2003

Oregon Attorney General Hardy Myers, Supreme Court Chief Justice Wallace Carson, Oregon Department of Veterans'Affairs Director Jim Willis and Charles Williamson, President of the Oregon State Bar, on November 10, 2003, will announce the formation of a new Military Assistance Panel within the Bar.

The announcement will take place at the Oregon State Bar headquarters.

The Military Assistance Panel will provide no cost legal services to Oregon's active duty service members and their families. Several federal laws require special services be provided to service personnel called into active duty.

Current family members of active duty military personnel, who have not received services to which they are legally entitled, will be available at the event.
