It is the goal of the Crime Victims’ Services Division to ensure that victims of crime have access to information about their rights and access to services that can help them begin to heal. However, Oregon law prohibits Oregon Department of Justice employees from providing legal advice or counseling for legal matters.
If you are a victim of crime, District Attorneys Offices have trained advocates that can help you navigate the criminal justice system, understand your rights and refer you to resources in your community that can offer support. If you need help, please contact the Victim Assistance Program in the county where your case is being handled.
